Success!
Jay is up to 6 lbs 5 ozs! That's a gain of 2.5 ounces a day, and they look for .5 to 1 ounce a day. Grow, little guy, grow!

Day 4
Jay is doing great! We are just working on getting some weight back on him. Yesterday he was down to 6 pounds even, which is a little more than the doctor was comfortable with. We are waking him every 2.5 hours to breastfeed and then also supplementing with half an ounce to an ounce of formula. We're also keeping him asleep until it's time to eat so that he can save all of his energy up for feeding. He has no problem with the sleeping part - perhaps some Thimmesch gene in there?
Today he is also meeting Grandma and Grandpa Hoover! So far I think they are smitten! Grandma is teaching Nick how to make pasta fagioli right now. Later they are going to help with construction in the dining room/mud room. I think they are going to start building the dividing wall between the two rooms. I think I will be sleeping at about that time!
