More work and some play

It's nearly 70 degrees today, so Nick is feverishly trying to finish up the railing on our new deck. Jay was out with him while I was working inside. This pretty much ensures that Jay will eat a leaf or two while Nick isn't looking. Here they are hard at work.

We took a walk to Dairy Queen and then to the park. Have I mentioned that Jay loves ice cream? It's true! Go figure, right? Really, it's anything ice cold that he loves. Once we allow him a sip of our ice water, that's all he wants until we can distract him with something else. He hasn't figured out how to use his own sippy cup, but he's pretty good with a regular one if he hold it for him. Anyway, we had a great time at the park. I can't wait til spring when he can enjoy it even more.

Election day

The sun was shining on a beautiful day off of mine, so we spent some time outside. Smile, Baby!

He makes this face all the time with his lower jaw sticking out. I have a feeling it won't last long, so I wanted to capture it on the blog.

Nick has been filling up his spare time working on our extended deck. He was taking a break and left his drill out. JJ was so excited to see it and then touch it.

All three of us took a trip to the polls to vote together. I was surprisingly proud to take Jay for the first time. He did want to eat the ballot and crumpled up one end of it. Luckily it fed through the scan machine just fine. Unfortunately, our votes weren't enough to keep the three supreme court justices on the bench.

Later in the day, we were downstairs and Jay went to his favorite spot. The mirror. Here he is kissing himself. Yes, he's licking the mirror. Somebody pull this out when he's 16, okay?
