JJ used his first two word phrase last night. "More bath", in sign language. Nick came home when I was putting Jay to bed. I was telling him about our day that ended with a bath. Nick started asking Jay if he liked his bath and he started signing, "more" and then he broke out his newest sign, "bath!" We felt so bad that we couldn't accommodate his wish when he was able to express it so clearly for the first time! He usually says more over and over and points to what he wants or we can just tell.

Long overdue update
This morning after breakfast, Jay was playing with the pots and pans that he likes to pull out of the cupboard. He kept sticking his hand in this pot, almost like he was pretending to stir something. So I decided to put some water in it and let him have some fun. He spent probably 10 minutes splashing away before I thought I should get him out of his wet pajamas.
Jay is such a fun little boy. He has really exploded with his verbal communication lately. I would say his first official word is cracker. He says it clearly and consistently uses it to actually mean cracker. He babbles a ton now and you can tell he has intent behind it. We just don't understand his language!
He started walking about three weeks ago! Aunt Chrissie and family came up for a visit and he took three steps to her. And then a few days later, he just up and walked towards his cousin Alexis while we were visiting at Grandma and Grandpa Thimmesch's house. Most of the time he only makes it a few steps before stumbling. He is getting better every day though. He has the cutest way of getting himself up to a standing position. He'll get up on his knees, then put a hand out in front of himself, and then get on each foot using a tripod position. Then he lifts off of that hand and off he goes!
You can also tell that his imagination is at work. He started to take an interest in a stuffed panda bear that he has. He hugs it up under his chin, then he holds it out for you to take it from him. He's not satisfied until you hug it under your chin. Then he takes it back. Rinse and repeat. His favorite game is still playing peek a boo. He even hides his face by ducking under the table, under a blanket, behind a door, etc.
