Over the 4th of July weekend, we had a Hoover family reunion. Rebecca and Chrissie's families spent the night at our house, then we all traveled to Marcie and Ed's lake house to see more family. We had our first meal in our dining room, even though we still don't have flooring or a center light or a fireplace surround. Nick cooked lasagna for lunch and smoked a beef brisket (in our new smoker/gas grill/charcoal grill) for dinner. Yum! Our air conditioning also decided to quit on us while everyone was over. We thought for sure it was dead for good, but it ended up being a relatively easy fix!
The next weekend, we had a Thimmesch family reunion. Aunts Sue, Donna, Lola, Carol, Lenora, and Sharon and Uncles Ken, Steve, and Joe were all able to gather at Mom and Dad's house with a bunch of my cousins and siblings and their kids.
Nick has been busy writing drum music for the fall. He estimates it took 26 hours to write the first 2 1/2 minutes of music, and he has 5 minutes to go! Jay has been busy teething but none have emerged yet. I have been busy composing blog posts in my head, but not getting them onto the computer.
